My favorite weekend of the year is coming up next weekend - it is ACL Fest here in Austin. This weekend is the last chance to prepare. Our flag this year is going to be a clownfish, as in Finding Nemo (above). Last year we had a palm tree with small flashing lights which sort of looked more like a snake. 
This may or may not have been an improvement over the previous year's palm tree that (some say) looked like a pot plant, but was shiney and easier to see, but was on a flimsy pole. I did improve the pole in 2007 with a telescoping aluminum kite pole. We'll see how well Nemo does this year, but at least he is colorful.
I have to get my guest room ready for Kelly, who is coming in on Thursday. (We all know the guest bathroom is in better shape for her this year!) And buy all the ingredients for her famous guacamole (recipe will be shared in a future post!).
Paul and Candy Schrull are coming in from Connecticut, also on Thursday and staying at Mike's.
Remember last year on the first day of the festival there was a propane tank explosion and we were concerned there would be no more food?
