There IS a pond there!

Duncan is looking for another job and the pickins are slim. In the meantime I have some chores around the house that he is going to do. He started with the muckiest job - cleaning out the pond which had become overgrown with cattails. Duncan brought his friend Austin along and the boys estimate that they hauled about a ton of muck out of this small pond. I never could have done it, even with Mike's help. This job required 17 and 18 year old boy muscles and no fear of what lived in that pond.

Turned out only a bunch of earthworms lived in the pond. While cleaning out the pond Duncan found the "key frog" that he remembers someone "accidentally" kicking into the pond many moons ago. He looks pretty good! And there was no key in him.

They enjoyed the refreshing 90 degree pool after their hard work. Well not exactly refreshing, but fun!

Meanwhile sister Steffi was out spending money again....on a new HP mini-notebook. (It is really cool - I may have to get one, too!) Apparently she inherited the "naming gene" from me (see Stef's blog about her new computer here)
