Postcard from Shamu-land

Dear Stef,

Yesterday Mike and I played hooky and went to Sea World. Just 2 adults. No kids. Okay, I guess we are just grown up kids ourselves. It was a blast and neither of us asked the other to buy a Shamu plush toy or Sea World cup with a character straw. We didn't fight over which ride to go on next and we saw practically all the shows.

This is the Viva show with dolphins and water acrobats. The costumes were really bad - very colorful, but not flattering on any body in any way. Definitely not the show to be in if you get a part time job at Sea World while you're at school.

Here is Shamu. He hasn't changed one bit since you saw him (or his 3 look-alikes) last. Still the same splashy self he has always been.

This is the Journey to Atlantis ride which as you would expect got us totally soaked at the bottom. This is one of those rides where people stand near the end to get splashed without riding the ride. Just as we finished and were about to get off one of the boats got stuck going up to the launching point. It was good to be getting off.

This is the Great White. The line was pretty short but they were only operating one "Great White" so we had to wait a bit. This one is more fun than the Superman at Fiesta.

The waterski show was a lot of fun too and the costumes were the least awful of any of the shows.

At the end of the day there is one show that makes fun of all the other shows. It was totally hilarious! In this picture they are making fun of the awful-costume-Viva show.

Shamu wishes you were here!

Luv,

Mom
